Cardinal Sean O’Malley has announced a Year of the Eucharist to bolster the faith of those who already believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and to encourage those who struggle with this belief. Over the course of the next year, the Cardinal invites all Catholics in the Archdiocese of Boston to learn more about the Eucharist and to spend more time before the Eucharistic Lord, asking Him to reveal Himself to you.

INTRODUCING THE ARCHDIOCESE OF BOSTON YEAR OF THE EUCHARIST From Fr. JT
“And behold I am with you always, until the end of the age“ (Matt 28:20)
(From Feast of Corpus Christi 2020 to Feast of Corpus Christi 2021)
The Archbishop of Boston, Cardinal Seán O’Malley, has declared the Year of the Eucharist in the Archdiocese.
A recent study in the USA has it that 69% of catholics in America do not believe in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist; and 50% of catholics in America do not know the Church’s Teachings concerning the Eucharist.
For me, the connection between the 69% and the 50% is clear: many catholics do not believe in the Real Presence because they are, may be, ignorant of the Church’s teaching on the Eucharist.
The Archbishop hopes that the Year of the Eucharist will help, therefore, to bolster the faith of those who already believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, encourage those who struggle with the belief, and assist us to spend more time with Jesus at Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.
